About Us
Shiloh University was named after the biblical story of Shiloh. It was founded in 2006 as an online Bible college and seminary with a mission to provide worldwide inclusive educational opportunities. The University began instruction in January 2007 with three degree-programs. Shiloh University expanded to include bachelor, masters, and professional doctoral programs.
From its inception, the University has been focused on providing opportunities for adult learners who did not otherwise have the ability to pursue their educational goals. The University sought to remove the barriers of distance, finances, and personal schedules for those whom God has called into areas of Christian service. The University's leadership devoted their efforts toward the development of quality and affordable online courses and degree programs. For Shiloh University, this was not an added marketing strategy, it was a foundational mission and commitment to students who could benefit from this type of opportunity.
Shiloh University received its accreditation in January 2012.
Collaboration was central to the continuous improvement of the University’s curriculum, leading to a non-sectarian approach to “Spirit-filled” Christian ministry education. The collaborative effort has included educators from different backgrounds and countries, pastors, missionaries, and specialists in curriculum, accreditation, and technology. Over time, this collaborative effort developed a culture of listening and appreciation of the varied gifts, perspectives, and callings that God placed within His people.
Throughout it's sixteen year history, Shiloh University was home for faculty and staff, and a place of learning and growth for students. The greatest treasure has been the relationships established and the students we were blessed to serve.
Due to financial issues related to maintaining a high level of quality, and the need to grow student enrollments to a sustainable level, the University leadership agreed to use the existing funds to teach out its students and fulfill our promises to them. As of the end of 2023, the last of the students completed their programs of study, we relinquished our accreditation, and closed our academic programs.
